Let's get to work

Last week we worked in class the topic about jobs.
We have learnt new vocabulary, expressions...everything related with work.
Nuria told us to make a blog entry about what we have learnt and here we have a small sample:

I work as a violin teacher in a music school.
Teaching somebody to play a musical instrument can be difficult like any other teaching task. We need to motivate pupils and make them enjoy it when they’re studying, but it’s not easy when we’ve got to do some quantity of work to pass and somebody needs more time to do it. This is the reason why we're working on a new project about on assessment which allows people to advance at their own pace without failing. They study as much or as little as they can and the next course we’ll start at this point.

Each one needs their own time and this is not a reason to fail, more if we’re talking about children. They’ll pass and they’ll not see a fail in their qualifications. They will see a (number of) level and a percentage, like third level 60%, because they may need five years instead of four. It could help us not to discourage pupils.

AN IDEAL JOB BY ESTER MIRANDA
Hi everyone,
I know that many of you are on the dole, are looking for a job, are preparing a public exam, have a temporary job or, simply, don’t enjoy what you are doing. Well…. For just one day we are going to talk about desires, not about needs.
Despite the current situation an the mundane reality of needing a salary to live… we often forget our interests and motivations. So… I propose you to answer these questions about your ideal job:

- If you were a richman/woman (like the song), what would you do for free?
- What are you good at and how can you earn a wage with this?
- What did you like to do when you were a teenager? How can it benefit your job?
- If you knew that you wouldn’t to fail…what would you try to work at?
It isn’t a matter of becoming a workaholic, noooo, merely it’s the secret to being happy at work.
